Brooke’s Birthday
Tuesday, January 5th, 2010

The holidays are always busy for us. The Twins’ birthday, Christmas, New Years… Oh, yeah. Brooke has a birthday somewhere in there too. She decided to go cakeless this year and instead have sundaes. Here’s hers (though you can’t see the double-dark hot fudge, caramel, or nuts.

Perhaps the most sought after call in ornithology is that of the Ivory-billed Woodpecker. But only slightly more common is the noise of two baby boys conversing after their mother has left their bedroom. Using state-of-the-art Graco voice-activated monitoring equipment, we have captured – perhaps for the first time – this elusive sound. Listen…

The exact purpose and meaning of these varied screeches, coos, and raspberries is unknown, but a widely accepted theory would translate it as follows:

Do you see Mom?
No, I think she left.
She probably thinks we’re asleep.
LOL.
